Ordering a custom quilt is a special and personal experience. Whether you’re commissioning a memory quilt, a t-shirt quilt, or a fully custom heirloom design, we want you to feel confident and informed every step of the way.
Below are answers to some of the most common questions about custom orders.
Do custom quilts require a deposit?
Yes. All custom quilt orders require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
This deposit allows us to:
Reserve your place in our quilting schedule
Purchase fabrics and materials specifically selected for your quilt
Begin planning and design preparation
Your deposit is applied toward your final total cost.
Why is the deposit non-refundable?
Because each custom quilt is made specifically for you, materials are often purchased and cut uniquely for your project. If an order is canceled after materials are sourced, those costs cannot be recovered.
The 20% deposit protects both the business and the integrity of the custom process. Once work has begun, orders cannot be canceled or refunded.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due prior to shipping or at the agreed-upon completion time. We will communicate clearly with you throughout the process so there are no surprises.
How long does a custom quilt take?
Processing timelines vary based on:
Quilt type
Design complexity
Current workload
Time of year
Estimated timelines are discussed at the time of order. Because each quilt is handcrafted, custom projects do require extended processing time.
What if I’m sending sentimental fabrics?
For memory quilts and t-shirt quilts, we understand the materials are often irreplaceable. Every effort is made to handle your items with care. However, we are not responsible for damage due to fabric condition, age, or prior wear.
What happens once my quilt is finished?
Your quilt will be:
Carefully inspected
Professionally packaged
Fully insured for shipping
Orders are shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx, and tracking information is provided when available.
What if I have more questions?
We welcome conversation. Custom quilting is personal, and we’re happy to guide you through the process so your finished quilt becomes a piece your family will treasure for generations.
